Megg
is an actress, dancer, song interpreter, make up artist for TV,
Film and Print and is a member of Screen Actor Guild. Megg was crowned
Miss Deaf Oregon in 1996-98. She won Best Talent award at the Miss
Deaf America Pageant in San Antonio, Texas, 1998 for her dance piece,
“Listening Through my Heart”. In 1997 and 1998 in Portland,
Oregon, she had two speaking roles with the Hearst Entertainment
Film Company, "15 & Pregnant" and "Change of
Heart.”
She moved to California at age 17 and graduated from Make-Up of
Hollywood in West Hollywood, CA in May 1999. Megg worked with CJ
Jones, CEO, at Sign World TV. Her multi-talented roles at SWTV were:
Make Up Artist, Actress/Performer and office assistant. She performed
sign song/dance that was produced by SWTV for internet video streaming.
Megg was a member of the National Theater of the Deaf. She also
joined Deaf West Theater Co. as the Program Coordinator & Educator
to coordinate workshops in Los Angeles County schools for 10 years.
She continued this field up in the Bay Area. Based on DWT’s
experience has developed a burning passion to continue teaching
Theatre, Dance & Directing all over the USA: from Seattle Children's
Theatre with Billy Seago, San Antonio, Texas Deaf Summer Dance Camp
to East coast and West coast.
Megg is actively involved with Deaf Hope as a volunteer advocator
and performed in Vagina Monologue in Berkley 2006. She had also
Directed Cinderella Waltz & Annie at the California School for
the Deaf in Fremont. She also directed Silent Salzburg, during the
Deaf Awareness Month. She recently finished performing in San Francisco
in Twelfth Night as lead Viola/Cesario and flew to DC to play lead
role of Beatrice in Much Ado About Nothing, Shakespeare play at
the Amaryllis Theatre in PA/DC. She is currently continue to write
music lyrics and working on developing music videos with D-Pan
Even though Megg has extensive Theatre experience since the age
of 5, She plans to continue to live in the Bay Area so her daughter
Yamila Rose Davis can continue her education at California School
for the Deaf. Not only her desires to become a successful performer,
she has a strong passion to be a positive role model for all Deaf
& Hard of Hearing people.
